Camera Description
The Hi-Matic released in 1962, was the first Minolta camera to feature automatic exposure using a built-in selenium light sensor. A major breakthrough at the time. The camera was well made with professional glass in the 45 mm f/2.8 lens. The camera gave photographers full control of the process and became known for active shooting. Allowing for successful photos in challenging settings. Versions of the Hi-Matic were made until 1979. Then autofocus and single lens reflex designs had taken over.
